Maine Oxy Return Policy

Maine Oxy accepts returns for merchandise within 14 days of receipt, provided the product is unused, unaltered, and in its original packaging.

To initiate a return, please contact your Maine Oxy representative to obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number before shipping any items back. All returns must include the original packaging and be in resalable condition. Please do not apply postage labels, write on, or alter the manufacturer’s packaging in any way. Items returned in non-resalable condition may not be eligible for credit or refund and may be returned to the customer at their expense. If an item is found to be defective, Maine Oxy will help facilitate a warranty replacement through the manufacturer. Once an item has been used, it cannot be returned. Maine Oxy reserves the right to refuse any return.

Return Labels & Refunds

Maine Oxy may provide a ground shipping label for your convenience. Your refund will reflect the product amount minus the cost of the return shipping label and any applicable restocking fee.

Freight Shipments

If the product must return by freight instead of ground service, you are responsible for arranging the carrier and covering the freight cost. Use a service with tracking and package the item to prevent transit damage.

Non-Refundable Charges
  • Original shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.
  • Maine Oxy is not responsible for return items that are lost or damaged in transit.
  • Refunds post to the original payment method after inspection and approval.

Maine Oxy is happy to accommodate exchanges. To exchange an item:

  • An RMA must be approved by your Maine Oxy representative.
  • The item being returned must meet our return eligibility (unused, original packaging, resalable condition).
  • Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will ship the replacement.
  • Exchanges must be for items of equal or greater value. If the replacement is less expensive, we will issue store credit rather than a refund of the difference.
  • All shipping costs for exchanges are at the customer’s expense.

If you qualify for tax-exemption, submit your valid exemption certificate to your Maine Oxy representative before placing your order. If Maine Oxy already collected tax and you provide exemption documentation after the order, we may process a tax refund only if the order is cancelled and we assess a processing fee (for example, 5%).

To cancel an order, please email your request to your Maine Oxy representative as soon as possible. Once your order has been “printed to ship” or loaded for delivery, cancellation may no longer be possible. For orders over a specified threshold (e.g., $500), cancellations may be subject to a credit-card processing fee (for example, 3%).

Manufacturer Coverage

Most products sold by Maine Oxy are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. Coverage terms vary by brand and product (e.g., welders, torches, regulators).

How to Start a Claim
  • Contact your Maine Oxy representative to initiate a warranty claim.
  • Have your proof of purchase and, if applicable, the product serial number.
  • We’ll help coordinate inspection, repair, or replacement with the manufacturer or an authorized service center.

What’s Not Covered
  • Damage from misuse, improper installation, modification, or non-standard applications.
  • Normal wear items where specified by the manufacturer.

Important Notes
  • Maine Oxy does not perform repairs unless authorized by the manufacturer.
  • All warranty outcomes are subject to the manufacturer’s evaluation and approval.
  • Used items are serviced or replaced through the manufacturer’s warranty process and are not eligible for return-for-credit.

ESTABLISHED IN 1929

Our story began in Auburn, Maine, as Maine Gas Service, providing sales and service to home propane customers. From those modest beginnings, we expanded to a company serving multiple industries with 17 operating locations and two fill plants.

NEW ENGLAND-BORN

We are born, bred, and built in New England. We operate with the reliability and scale of a global company, but with the soul and mentality of a small local business. We never forget our roots and who we exist to serve.

GROWING NATIONALLY

From Maine to Connecticut and servicing Rhode Island and New York, our reach continues to expand. As we grow, we take pride in providing quality and expertise in every new location we service.
